CVUC Classic Vehicle Union of China Newsletter Friday, 14 March 2014 INTRODUCTION  |  PROGRAMME  |  GENERAL RULES  |  FAQ  |  2013 REPORT Event Description 4C is a multi-faceted automotive event jointly organized by the F¨¦d¨¦ration Internationale des V¨¦hicules Anciens (FIVA) and Classic Vehicle Union of China (CVUC). The history of 4C started in 2011 and, after three editions, the event is now acknowledged in the field as the biggest and highest-level event of classic cars in the Eastern part of the world. In 2014, 4C will be back from 9 to 21 October; this is the best season in China, when both the temperature and the environment are perfect for outdoors travelling. 4C¡¯s route explores the golden hinterland from the capital ¨C Beijing ¨C through the cities of Tianjin, Qingdao, Huai¡¯an, Nanjing and Hangzhou to the economic center of the country ¨C Shanghai. With the nation¡¯s greatest economic development, beautiful sceneries, rich tourism resources and deep cultural atmosphere, this area fully embodies the most distinctive characteristics of China. Combining automotive and trends, pursuing a refined brand-new lifestyle, the event includes exhibitions, high-level gatherings, a concours, touring rally sections and social interaction opportunities. It is neither a competition for speed nor a hazardous adventure. Finally, with classic car enthusiasts from all over the world and the participation of first-class car manufacturers, 4C is also a rare global communication platform.   Event Background China is the only country in the world with an uninterrupted history of over 5000 years. Not only is it home to one fourth of the world's population, but it is also enriched by its beautiful landscapes and gorgeous civilization. During the past fifty years, China has drawn attention from many other countries, especially because of the incredible economic growth of the last 30 years that reached its peak with the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Over one hundred years ago, Prince Borghese drove all the way from this ancient land to Paris and his venture left a permanent mark in human history. More than one century later, in 2011, another great event of classic cars was held in this ancient country. Classic cars enthusiasts from all over the world got behind the wheel of their jewels and drove from Beijing to Shanghai. This event was the first of its kind in the Eastern part of the world. This grand competition amazed the world in 2011 then expanded its scale in the following two years; in 2014, the event will make a new breakthrough and be even more splendid.
